How a medical lien arrangement works
Under a medical lien, also called a letter of protection, the client, your office, and our clinic agree that payment for treatment will be made from the case recovery rather than by the client at the time of service. The client is not asked for payment at each visit.
Your office sends the lien or letter of protection to the clinic. Treatment is documented visit by visit, and itemized billing is maintained throughout so it is ready when you need it.
What we ask of your office
To start quickly, it helps to have the following on hand when you refer a client.
- The signed lien or letter of protection, or confirmation that one is on the way
- The client name and best phone number, so we can reach them directly
- The case type (auto accident, premises liability, work injury, other) and approximate date of injury
- Any existing diagnoses or imaging, if available. Please keep detailed medical information out of email.
What you get in return
Same-day or next-business-day initial evaluations when schedules allow, a documented treatment record, progress updates on request, and an itemized bill when treatment concludes. A dedicated lien coordinator is available to your office for questions.
Resolving the lien at settlement
When the case resolves, our lien coordinator works with your office to confirm the balance and resolve it. Reach out at any time if you need an updated ledger.
