About Us – Dynamic Physical Therapy
Dynamic Physical Therapy was founded in 2000, in Van Nuys, CA as a provider of outpatient orthopedic physical therapy. By consistently providing quality care and exceptional service, Dynamic Physical Therapy has been able to grow and expand. Today, we are grateful for the opportunity to help people throughout the greater Los Angeles area recover from a wide variety of painful conditions.
Dynamic Physical Therapy is unlike many of the larger physical therapy or acupuncture facilities, where patients do not receive a “hands on” approach. At Dynamic Physical Therapy, your treatment will always include manual, hands-on therapy, along with the appropriate treatment intervention in order to optimize your progress. Omid Farvili, PT
Partner – Licensed Physical Therapist
In 2000, Omid Farvili graduated from California State University, Northridge with a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy. Upon graduating, he worked in various settings gaining valuable experience and advanced manual skills.
Ali John Farvili, PTA
Partner – Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant
Is a graduate of the Physical Therapy Assistant program at PSI, located in Santa Barbara, CA. Ali had his orthopedic internship at Dos Caminos Physical Therapy in Camarillo, Ca. Under the supervision of the lead physical therapist, he was trained and educated on various manual techniques with an emphasis in the Maitland manual therapy approach. During the course of his orthopedic internship, he observed many joint replacements surgeries from varying orthopedic surgeons at nearby St. Johns Pleasant Valley Hospital. Ali received his license in 2000 and continues to pursue additional continuing educational training in orthopedic mechanical diagnosis and manual therapy techniques. Over the years Ali has gained valuable experience and knowledge in aquatic rehabilitation and outpatient orthopedics. In 2001, he helped establish Dynamic Physical Therapy. Since then, he has been assisting in leading the practice while developing lasting relationships with local physicians, medical providers and physical therapy schools. Presently, the goal of the practice is to provide the highest-quality rehabilitation available by implementing up to date, effective knowledge and techniques.
Ali is dedicated to fitness with interests in running and body weight strength training/conditioning. He also enjoys playing Volleyball, Basketball and spending time with his wife and children.
Norman Garrido, PT
Licensed Physical Therapist
In 1997, Norman graduated physical therapy school. He has been practicing physical therapy in New York City (From 2000-2009) and in California as of 2009 to present. He has gained a vast amount of experience through different settings as a physical therapist. His experience in both inpatient and outpatient hospital settings has elevated his skills and techniques as a physical therapist. Norman’s area of specialty is in outpatient orthopedics, which is his current area of practice. The practice is patient centered, utilizing a holistic approach with an emphasis on patient education and hands-on treatment.
Presently, the goal of the practice is to provide the highest-quality rehabilitation available by implementing up to date, effective knowledge and techniques. Norman in his free time is a long distance runner, and enjoys competing in various races, runs, and half marathons. Norman maintains a healthy lifestyle through proper nutrition and exercise. Norman also is a recreational table tennis an indoor volleyball enthusiast.
Manuel Canabal, MAOM, L.Ac
Licensed Acupuncturist
Manuel Canabal, originally from Puerto Rico, moved to Los Angeles to fulfill his passion of becoming an Oriental Medicine practitioner. He is a California Licensed Acupuncturist who graduated Valedictorian from Southern California University of Health Sciences (SCUHS) with a Master’s Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He was also the recipient of the Hua Tuo Clinical Award for his dedication to his clinical internship where he exhibited excellence in knowledge and ability in the treatment of various conditions as well as in the performance of acupuncture technique procedures.
Manuel was a member of the Herbal Medicine Club and worked intensively in the Herb Garden identifying and labeling different medicinal plants. He also worked as a research assistant for the Oriental Medicine department compiling herbal literature for different research projects. Manuel was actively involved with the university newspaper writing the Herb of the Month monthly column. In addition, he was part of the mentoring program providing tutoring to fellow students and participated in several school humanitarian projects traveling to Tijuana and to Indian reservations to provide free health care. After graduating in 2008, Manuel became a part-time faculty as a teacher assistant for the Tai Qi course at SCUHS.
Manuel is fully bilingual in both Spanish and English.
